You may qualify for a U Visa if you are a victim of a qualifying crime that occurred in the United States, including assault, domestic violence, sexual assault, kidnapping, or other serious offenses. You must have suffered substantial physical or mental abuse as a result of the crime and be willing to assist law enforcement in the investigation or prosecution. You do not need to have entered the country legally to apply, and victims of all nationalities are eligible. Certain family members may also be included in your petition.
